Ask C4S — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Overview

Ask C4S is a browser extension that assists users of SAP Service Cloud (C4S / C4C). It connects to a backend service configured by your organization’s administrator (the “Service”) to help triage tickets, search the knowledge base, check parts, and draft replies.

What the extension accesses

What is sent, and where

When you submit a request, Ask C4S sends your query, any text you selected or entered, and the relevant page or ticket context to the backend Service configured by your administrator (the “Server URL” in settings). It may also send the authentication token when needed to authenticate the request. The Service:

The extension sends requests to the configured backend Service. If an AI provider is enabled, the Service may transmit the request and relevant context to that provider as described above.

What is stored locally

Ask C4S stores your authentication token, account information, and settings (such as the Server URL, display preferences, and SLA-watcher settings) in Chrome local storage on your device. The token is sent to the configured Service when needed for authentication; settings are sent only when needed to provide a feature. You can clear this local information by signing out or removing the extension.

Data sharing and sale

Ask C4S does not sell your data and does not share it with third parties other than the backend Service you connect to (and, via that Service, the AI provider your administrator configures).

Data retention

The extension stores the local items listed above. Retention of information processed by the backend Service, your organization’s SAP environment, and any enabled AI provider is governed by your organization’s policies and the applicable provider terms. Contact your administrator for details about those systems’ retention settings.

Permissions

Ask C4S uses browser permissions to provide its page-context, ticket, knowledge, parts, reply-drafting, and SLA-watcher features. Page access is limited to the supported SAP Service Cloud domains listed above. Network access is used for the configured Service and any endpoints required by enabled features.
